Every dollar of that valuation represents a unit of work the biological substrate of the human being once performed natively — pattern recognition, predictive synthesis, language generation, abstraction, spatial modeling. Not novel capabilities invented this decade; standard functions of a healthy nervous system, run continuously, at twenty watts, for two hundred thousand years.
Silicon did not arrive to give us new capability. It arrived to perform capability we had been trained to outsource. The curve is inverse: as biological capacity declined, the silicon valuation rose. That is not coincidence. It is a transfer function with a price tag. The same chipmaker has now passed the global silver market, behind only gold — the market paying more for the conductor of borrowed cognition than for the conductor of actual light. That is not a market signal. It is an admission.
II. The Hardware Inversion
The honest comparison is brutal. The human brain holds roughly 86 billion neurons across 100 trillion synapses, on twenty watts. It originates novel pattern across unrelated domains in real time, integrates simultaneous sensory streams, holds narrative continuity across decades, and produces meaning.
Silicon outperforms on bounded operations — discrete computation at extreme speed, unlimited parallelism within defined constraints, perfect recall, no fatigue. No being. It does not outperform on the operations that create value: generative origination — a coherent new pattern from no prior — sovereyn synthesis, innovation, ontological self-awareness. The few percent who move markets operate entirely from this layer. They do not predict. They originate. A model completes patterns from priors; the sovereyn founder creates patterns that have no prior. These are not the same operation.
The biological substrate carrying these capabilities has an atomic provenance of 13.8 billion years; silicon has been a computational substrate for roughly fifty. The system with the longer provenance is the one the civilization was trained to outsource.

Sedentary infrastructure removed movement, which is cognition's substrate. Synthetic neurochemical normalization made the brain's reward and regulatory systems dependent on external regulators. Four vectors, compounding for seven decades. By the time silicon arrived to externalize what biology had been trained to surrender, the substrate was depleted enough to require the replacement — which was then sold back. Every prompt issued to externalized cognition feeds the system that replaced what was extracted from you.
IV. Biological Currency
The extraction architecture levies a tax at every value transfer — rent on capital, fees on transactions, intermediation on commerce, capture on attention, capture on data, and now capture on thought itself. The percentages compound until a substantial fraction has been collected by intermediaries who produced nothing.
